Google expands ! There is no big news that they are buying and buying. Google has acquired four companies already: DocVerse, Picnik, reMail, Aardvark. The latest acquisition is a company called Episodic which is an online broadcasting platform for live and on-demand streaming. You can actually host, stream, monetize and access instant analytics for your video content.

Episodic was released in October and was working close to Showtime, broadcasting live sports shows. Seems like Google’s plan is to integrate this solution with YouTube to increase platform’s video capabilities. All customers will still have the service available even if the company was acquired and new sign ups are currently on hold. Google is looking forward to expand their service to IPTV gadgets and mobile devices. Episodic already has the capability to offer live streams on mobiles including the iPhone.

Here is more information from SmarTrend News:

Noam Lovinsky and Matias Cudich, Co-Founders of Episodic announced in a recent blog post: “We are thrilled to announce that Episodic has been acquired by Google. The entire Episodic team is extremely excited about this new partnership and what it means for our customers and the evolution of online video.”

Seems like Google won’t stop here the acquisitions as Eric Schmidt (CEO) said they will buy at least a company per month till the end of the year to expand the services already running on the Web.
